About Me

In your search for a therapist, what are you looking for?

Qualifications? Experience?
Someone who has a broad depth of understanding which has evolved over many, many years of professional service and yet provides a reasonably-priced service?

Perhaps I might be the right person for you.

Dr Cassandra Perry

I gained a Ph.D in Health Science (Psychotherapy) in 2009 at the age of 58. In my eight-year research study, I devised a CBT-based therapeutic programme to use with a group of loners who were unable to relate to others. This difficulty may not be yours but I hope it illustrates that, even at the very highest level, I have always have been a totally 'hands-on' practitioner. Indeed, I have worked in mental health for over forty-five years. I am registered and accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and now, in private practice, see clients in the tranquility of my own riverside home.

I was originally trained as an integrative counsellor, which means that I learnt the whole spectrum of psychological approaches. When working with you, I would try to explore what your specific needs are and how choices can be made to promote positive change. We might also explore your past - if that is relevant - so that together we can analyse your current situation with deeper insight and then plan future goals. At the end of the day, the only thing that actually matters is that the most suitable approach by the most suitable person is utilised to deal with your specific difficulty.

Problems are rarely too big that they cannot be delicately unravelled. Conversely, your concern would never be perceived as too trivial. Everything you tell me is treated in a respectful way with the utmost confidentiality. Always my work complies with the highest ethical standards of my professional body.
